Patchy Patients is a first-person shooter with a twist: shoot to heal! Your monster creations, the Frankies, are leaking slime and rapidly flooding your laboratory. Armed with your novelty bandage gun, patch the holes in the Frankies to delay the flooding and last as long as you can!

Patchy Patients was created in Unity during Global Game Jam 2020 for the theme "Repair", and was developed in a team of seven over a weekend with some polish time afterwards.

Responsibilities

Game Design - I was responsible for designing the game's level layout in collaboration with the team, populating the world with assets and goofy imagery to fit the theme. I also helped implement accessibility options including offering multiple control options (Mouse & Keyboard, Xbox Controller) and toggling visual effects.

Creative Producer - I worked alongside a Technical Producer to manage the project's schedule and tasks. I took responsibility over the creative side of the project, managing the scope and how we planned to achieve it in the limited time we had.

Designing the UI and Animations - Towards the end of development I took on UI Design and Animation to lighten the load on the rest of the team. I was responsible for developing the assets needed for the UI, and animating both the UI elements and the Frankies' walk cycles. I also designed each of the novelty bandages, and scripted the random assignment of them into the game.
